People on boardMOSSE, Ellen Eliza Mrs Ellen Mosse, the wife of Lieutenant Colonel William Oliver Matless Mosse, died on the Leinster. She was born Ellen Eliza Grimsdale in 1859 in Uxbridge, Middlesex to Daniel Mascall Grimsdale and Anna Maria Robins. Her father was a corn merchant. Ellen and Oliver were married on 19th August 1890 at Uxbridge parish church in Middlesex. The couple had three children: Charles, Kathleen, and Doris Noel (known as Noel), the first two were born in India and Noel was born in Kent, reflecting their father’s varied military career. Probate for her husband indicates the couple was living at 2 Russell Crescent in Brighton at the time of their deaths. They were survived by their three children and have living descendants today. They are buried in Grangegorman Military Cemetery in Dublin. Text: Claire Bradley
